They were battered by wind and rain all month, but the scarecrows in the fourth annual Adventures in Scarecrows contest, sponsored by the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce,continued to delight residents and visitors in the county during October. And as these photos show, there is no lack of imagination to the fun and creativity that local businesses and organizations put into this whimsical project.
The Chamber of Commerce works to promote county business and community pride through a variety of activities and programs throughout the year. The Adventures in Scarecrows is one that became an instant hit. The contest has brought passers-by from several surrounding counties and beyond, all wanting to catch a glimpse of the fall flavor and fun.
This year’s contest brought almost 40 scarecrow entries in the towns of Medaryville, Francesville, Monterey and Winamac.
