This group of “live” scarecrows joined the fun at the Chamber’s Moonlight Madness event on the evening of Oct. 17 in downtown Winamac where participants enjoyed hot cider, shopping and visiting.

Stuffed with straw, grinning from pumpkin or birdhouse faces - the scarecrows in the third annual Adventures in Scarecrows contest, sponsored by the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce, delighted residents and visitors in the county for most of October.
The Chamber of Commerce works to promote county business and community pride through a variety of activities and programs throughout the year. The Adventures in Scarecrows is one that became an instant hit. The contest has brought passers-by from several surrounding counties and beyond, all wanting to catch a glimpse of the fall flavor and fun.
This year’s contest brought over 40 scarecrow entries in the towns of Medaryville, Francesville, Monterey and Winamac. Adding to this year’s fun was a Moonlight Madness event on Oct. 17 in downtown Winamac, featuring live scarecrows, shopping and refreshments served by the Historical Society.
