Women
of
Pulaski County
The
beat goes on ...

Almost 200 women attended the celebration
Women
give from the heart ...
So it was only appropriate that Valentines Day was selected
for the first-ever celebration of Pulaski County women - past and
present.
Best of all, the elegant and charming event proved to be an inspiration
to those in attendance to renew their commitment to serve their communities
and families - in keeping with the heritage of the remarkable women
who have gone before them.
The event, held at the Life Center in Winamac, was organized by a
group of ladies who have come together to recognize the numerous and
varied contributions of women to the quality of life in their communities.
The group calls itself the Women of Pulaski County.
Almost 200 women attended the festive brunch which featured splendidly
set tables, soft lighting and tasteful decorations of floating candles,
hearts and roses.
Nineteen women, selected as the 2004 Women of Pulaski County honorees,
were featured in a video presentation which chronicled their life
stories.

Some of the women
who organized the celebration event gathered for this photo. Shown
with speaker Tricia Sloma and co-chairmen Kathi Thompson and Wendy
Rose (front), they are (middle) Carol Sparks, Monica Gainor, Chris
Smith, Megan Wegner, Jan Moyer and Cathy DeFries; and (back) Sue Nies,
Kathy Wilson, Karen Good, Lin Morrison, Rita Carpenter and Marylou
Bonnell.
