U.S.
Navy Medic Marie Morris
U.S.
Navy medic Marie Morris has completed two tours of duty in
Iraq, completing her most recent in early 2007.
Her parents are Victoria and Dave Pingel of Winamac, and the
late Danny Morris.
The patrons of her mothers business, Vickys Restaurant
in Winamac, collected and mailed over 400 Christmas cards
to Marie in December 2006. The project was organized by waitress
Brenda Johnson.
Home base for Marie is San Diego. She graduated from Winamac
Community High School in 1993. Other family members include
brother Joe Morris also from Winamac, grandparents Art and
Jeanie Fox, and aunt Gloria Rife.

Spc.
Joseph Knouff
has served with the
U.S. Army for eight years and the Indiana National Guard for
eight years. He is stationed in Bahgdad.

Spc.
Leon Bell Jr.
serves with the Army
Reserves 88th RRC, 685th Transportation Co., Hobart. He served
in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He lives in Winamac with wife, Bridget
and one-year-old son Zayne.

Tyler Campbell
Joined
the U.S. Marine Corps in August 2005 under the delayed entry
program. Completed recruit training October 2006. Currently
stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Parents:
Terry and Linda Campbell, Sheri and Brian Gaillard.

Jacob Crist
Serves in the U.S.
Air Force and stationed at Fairchild AFB, Washington. Lives
with wife Katrina in Spokane Valley. Parents: Roy and Kathy
Crist, Star City.

Mike Hall
of Star City has served
in the U.S. Army and Indiana National Guard for 17 years. He served
in Operation Iraqi Freedom and went to Mississippi for Operation
Katrina Relief. He is a 5th Grade teacher at Pioneer Elementary
School, Royal Center. |

Capt.
Kirk Dooley
has served with the
U.S. Marines for 14 years and is currently stationed with the
9th Marine Corps District, Kansas City, Mo. as a marketing officer.
He served as an intelligence officer in Iraq for nine months.
He is the son of Alan and Gloria Hizer of Winamac.

Roger Frinkel Jr.
Has served with the
U.S. Army for one year. Stationed at Ft. Lee, Va. Parents: Roger
and Cathy Frinkel Sr., and Carolyn McIntire, all of Medaryville.

Jason Brown
Has served with the
U.S. Marines for four years. Soon to be transferred to the Marine
Corps base in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Wife: Brittni Rife Brown.

Hintz
Joined
the U.S. Air Force earlier this year. Attends technical school
at Brooks City-Base, Texas. Parents: Wayne and Carol Hintz of
Francesville.

Kenneth Knarr
Has served with the
U.S. Marines for 17 years. Stateioned in Iraq. Mother: Juan
Knarr of Winamac.

Sgt. David Pratt has been stationed around the world in his 21
years with the military - four years with the U.S. Marines and
the past 17 years with the National Guard Reserves. In 2005 he
served as an embedded tactical trainer (combat advisor) with the
Afghan National Army (where he is shown here at left). He is the
son of Donna Pratt of Winamac. |
Staff
Sgt. Kyle Schramm of Winamac has served with the U.S. Army for
11 years. Hes with the 2nd Battalion, 1st Regiment, 172nd
Stryker Brigade combat team and works with Special Forces training
and leading the Iraqi Army. He is stationed near Ramadan. |

Stan Czech
has served with Company
B, 2nd Battalion, 217th Infantry, Indiana National Guard, Logansport,
the past four years. A junior at Ball State University, he is
majoring in criminal justice. Parents: Ed Czech and Phyllis
Czech of Winamac.

Nick Cardwell
has served with the U.S.
Army for almost two years, and is stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

Cpl.
Nicholas Rumple
has served in the
U.S. Marines for three years and recently returned from a tour
of duty in Iraq. He serves with the 3rd Recon Battalion, stationed
at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Nathanial Needham
Serves with the U.S. Marines
as a CH53 Helicopter mechanic in Djibouti on the Red Sea. Based
in New River, N.C. Parents: Mike Needham and Deb Gotshall.

Sgt.
Kyle Evans
of
Francesville was stationed with the Army National Guard in Tikrit,
Iraq for a tour of duty in 2005. He is the son of Rob and Deb
Evans. He now resides in Indianapolis.

Winamac has served with the U.S. Navy for the past 18 months,
including a tour of duty in Italy.
